A practical plan for your signature cocktails, from the first design idea to the venue handoff.
Start with the drinks you want to serve, then choose the ice and design around them. A monogrammed cube can carry your wedding identity into an Old Fashioned or another signature cocktail, but it needs to fit the glass and the bartender’s service plan.

Choose where engraved ice belongs
You do not need a custom cube in every drink. Many couples choose one signature cocktail or a dedicated whiskey serve. Ask your bartender which drinks use a large serving piece and which are shaken, strained or served without ice. A drink normally served up needs its own recipe and presentation decision before adding a cube.
Set a starting budget
As of September 2026, WK’s standard online monogram, custom and branded cubes are listed at $4.95 per piece. At that listed price, 100 pieces would be $495 and 200 would be $990, before any applicable tax or order-specific charges. These are product-only planning calculations, not all-inclusive event quotes. Quantity, custom dimensions, design work, rush timing and delivery arrangements can affect your final proposal.

Count cocktails, not just guests
Estimate the number of drinks that will actually use your custom ice. For example, 150 guests × 60% choosing the featured cocktail × 2 servings gives 180 drinks. One cube per drink with a 10% spare allowance means 198 cubes; you might request a quote for 200. Those percentages are illustrative assumptions, not a forecast of your guests’ drinking.
Plan other serving ice, shaking ice and bottle-chilling ice separately with your caterer. Our wedding ice quantity guide includes more worked examples.
Match the artwork to the ice
Initials, a simple monogram or a bold motif are useful starting points. Very fine lettering and crowded crests may need simplification. Send your preferred artwork as a PDF, PNG, JPG or SVG and identify which details matter most. Ask to review the proposed design before production; confirm lettering, orientation and the number of designs with your quote.
If you prefer a snowy appearance in the engraved recesses or a cleaner empty engraving, mention that in your inquiry so we can discuss the finish. An example photograph is more useful than assuming every engraving will look identical in every drink.
Check the actual glass
A standard 2-inch cube measures 2 × 2 × 2 inches. Its top face is about 2.83 inches across the corners. For upright insertion into a round glass, our guide uses a planning target of about 2.96 inches of internal width, including an allowance. A tapered glass can clear the rim but catch the cube lower down.

Allow time for the decisions
We recommend beginning the order process at least 2–3 weeks before the event where possible. This is planning guidance, not a guaranteed turnaround. Artwork revisions, special formats and production availability can require more time. If the date is sooner, tell us before making arrangements with your venue.
Standard local deliveries are on Saturdays, with a Thursday 5 p.m. Eastern cutoff for the upcoming Saturday. Custom engraving needs its own production confirmation; the standard delivery cutoff does not guarantee a custom order can be produced that week. Include your event date and required handoff date so we can confirm the arrangements in writing.
Give the venue a simple handoff plan
Name the person accepting delivery, check receiving access and reserve freezer space. Keep the ice frozen in its packaging until service, away from strong-smelling foods. Ask the venue how small batches will reach the bar without leaving the full order out. See our storage and service checklist.
